Acamp is a start-up where hosts can rent camping spots to campers. It’s Airbnb for camping. While working at Acamp from February 2022 until July 2022, I was part of a team that helped maintain and develop new features for their front-end website.
Acamp is a start-up where hosts can rent camping spots to campers. It’s Airbnb for camping. While working at Acamp from February 2022 until July 2022, I was part of a team that helped maintain and develop new features for their front-end website. This included migrating from React.js to Next.js where Acamp was able to make use of the enhanced features offered. The site was written in TypeScript and the components were then migrated to Storybook.js. The team that I was a part of also helped to fix and provide timely solutions to any bugs that popped up, especially ones that would impact the user's experience. I was the sole front-end developer on Acamp’s Scout program where campers can suggest new camping spots and receive rewards when the new host they suggested joins the platform. You can view Scout here. The visual design was created by a UI designer and the back-end was set up by a back-end developer. The scout platform was built using Next.js and the components migrated to Storybook.js. If I were to work on the project again, I’d turn the Scout program into a micro front-end.
